The special practice of seeing the inseparability of Lama Tsongkhapa and one's root guru is designed to draw us closer to our teachers and open ourselves to receiving their blessings, which are the root of all attainments. The migtsema prayer included in this practice has special power to remove obstacles to our practice and to generate wisdom, compassion and power.

In the practice of Lama Chöpa, we invoke all the lamas of the graduated path lineage beginning with Shakyamuni Buddha himself, extending to our present direct teachers who have shown us the path. We pay homage to them, make offerings, and request each of them to please bless our minds with the same realizations that they themselves have generated.

This Bodhicharyavatara commentary began in April 2011 in Bendigo, Australia and is intended to be continued over the next few years.
